The Power of Socialization

In this blog post, I will be talking about the importance of socializing and networking with others around you. Socializing/networking with others can lead to many great opportunities and have a positive impact on someone’s day. Whether it’s saying “hello”, sharing ideas, or even talking about the latest news, positively interacting with others will more than likely result in both parties experiencing a favorable feeling. That being said, I feel that this tool should be heavily addressed within the academic systems of today’s schools across the globe.

In today’s society, many great accomplishments have begun with the power of socializing in the form of brainstorming. Brainstorming is a very useful tool that many successful businesses continue to utilize in order to achieve their corporate goals in an effective and timely fashion. In addition, brainstorming is a tool that is sought to have great importance throughout team-based activities/tasks in everyday life, especially within the Highschool and Post Secondary curriculum in today’s day and age.

Networking is another form of socializing that is mainly focused towards opportunities and/or business ventures. As a business student, studying Advertising & Marketing, from Sheridan College, networking is a key skill we are taught to develop from the start of the program, till the moment you graduate. Networking with others is a  great way for individuals to create a reputation for themselves, as well as create great opportunities for themselves. Whether it is finding a new job, or even exchanging contact with a potential client, when done effectively, networking can lead to endless opportunities and/or future success.

These are the reasons as to why I feel socializing/networking is a useful tool in today’s society and should be heavily addressed, if not, incorporated in academic schooling across the globe. As the business world continues to progress, these essential tools become a necessity for accomplishing corporate goals.
